Lay Parners Botswana

Lay Parners in action from Maun

On Sunday 15th of February fr. Lukas Beo SVD with a group of Lay Parners from St. Augustine Maun in Botswana visited our refugee brothers and sisters in Dukwi.

A Mission of Love and Action

Traveling from Maun to the Camp that is about 360 km to distribute

– Food hampers

– Pre-loved clothing

– Shoes

– Blankets

– Other essential items

Each item shared was more than just material support – it was a symbol of solidarity, dignity and love.

The smiles, gratitude and warm interactions we encountered reminded us that even small act of kindness can make a profound difference. For many families, these donations provided comfort and relief in challenging circumstances.

A Community United

This outreach would not have been possible without the generosity of donors, volunteers, and well-wishers who contributed in various ways. Whether through donations, sorting and packing, prayers, or encouragement, each contribution played an important role in making this mission successful.

Together, we demonstrated that compassion knows no borders.

Looking Ahead

This first outreach program marks only the beginning. We are inspired to continue supporting our refugee brothers and sisters and to strengthen our commitment to service, dignity, and shared humanity.

Let us continue to be instruments of hope wherever there is need.

With hearts full of gratitude and compassion, we are pleased to share the joyful success of our first outreach program.

We would like to thank to our dedicated SVD Lay Partners,  Maun Team, who generously gave their time, energy and resources to bring hope and practical support to our refugee brothers and sisters.

We also would like share our  sincere gratitude to everyone who made this possible, our St. Augustine Parish community. Special  thanks to Dr. & Mrs. Nkasama, Mrs. Mbuka and Sis. Constance OLA who accompanied the team. We also thank Fr. Charles Kporfor SVD who welcome us at the Camp.
